This June 19, we celebrate the abolition of slavery; a great feat of freedom and independence for our brothers and sisters who have been subjected to it. To this day, we remember the Commemoration of the Emancipation Proclamation through the promotion of our cultural presence in New York to help our younger generations to connect to our beautifully diverse heritage and values, which are important to help them feel a sense of community and empowerment.
